Two Good Days

Wednesday
Up early as usual. It was overcast and chilly so Hubby and I had our morning chat and coffee inside. The ground was very wet after yesterdays rain and Digby got very muddy when out for his morning ablutions. I was relieved that I had made an appointment at the Grooming Parlour for him. I fed them early and we had an early breakfast. Hubby left for the workshop and I sorted out the kitchen and gardener before getting ready to take Digby. When Diane and I left to take him it was raining and visibility was poor. We drove slowly and got there at nine – just in time as the dogs must be there between eight and nine. The Parlour had been getting phone calls cancelling appointments because the weather was so miserable and cold so were happy I had still come. After dropping him off we headed for Meyerton to do a few errands. Before we got there Ali phoned to say she was at the plot so we detoured and went home instead. Both her and Travis were home for the rest of the week as they were sick. Diane and I had a coffee and did some computer work before going into Meyerton. First stop was the post office and then we went off to see a friend. The friend wasn’t there so we left a message and decided to stop at KFC for some lunch. We got lunch and then made for the Parlour to fetch Digby. It was half eleven and as they said he would be ready at twelve we drove slowly so that we wouldn’t be too early. We arrived at 11.45am to find him waiting for us. He was thrilled to see me and coming home in the car he lay on my lap resting his head against my shoulder. He looked so lovely and white (not muddy brown). When we got back Digby’s first stop was the bed where he rolled around a bit before making himself comfortable. Ali and Travis had their lunch then they both dosed up and went to sleep. The weather still wasn’t very pleasant so Diane and I decided to have a rest too. By two the weather had improved so I got on the computer and did some banking and sorted out some queries.Travis was very miserable and tired so Ali fed him and put him to bed at half four. She also dosed herself up and joined him. They slept through until the next day.Diane and I had our glass of wine outside and then I made supper. We watched our usual CSI and NCIS having our Milo of course after which we went to bed.
Thursday
Up early before the alarm went off as the dogs were up wanting their biscuits. Hubby and I had our morning coffee and chat outside as the weather was good. Ali and Travis surfaced and as she had washing to hang out gave me Travis. He was a bit miserable so I asked Hubby to make me a second cup of coffee and to bring a banana for Travis (Ali said he was not interested in his milk). I had my coffee while Travis ate two bananas. Hubby made himself toast and disappeared to eat it in front of the TV. I made oats and Travis and I polished it off. He was in a better mood after eating so well. Hubby left for the workshop and Ali took Travis. I checked emails and then started cleaning. There wasn’t too much to do as most of the spring cleaning is done. I just dusted, vacuumed and mopped. I fed the gardener and then Diane and I left for Alberton. We reached town just after one. First stop was the traffic department to pay a fine for Ali (she was driving while using her cellphone).Next was the tax office to hand in my paye form. We then went into Alberton City to find out about enabling my cellphone for Oz. The advice was not to bother as the costs will be ridiculous so we went looking for tekkies instead. I found a comfortable pair and then as we were feeling thirsty we stopped at Wimpy for a coffee. We also had a bite to eat – apple crumble and ice-cream for me and malva pudding for Diane. It was nearly three now so we left for the workshop via the court Prosecutor. Ali hadn’t put her license disc on her car and had got fined while in a parking area. I took the fine and proof of the license to him and luckily the fine was cancelled. She’s lucky she is sick otherwise I would have made her sort these things out herself. When we got to the workshop I handed out wage envelopes and checked on a few things there before leaving to go do some shopping. We went to the Lemon Tree Centre where I stocked up on groceries. I also bought an extra tea to take to Oz (I drink Green Rooibos and Lemongrass during the day and I’m sure they don’t have it there). As we were right next to Tremonti’s it would have been rude not to stop there. We each had three scoops of ice-cream.When we got back we unloaded the car and I put a chicken flattie into the oven. Hubby arrived home with the moby-jack as a friend was coming to borrow it. Him, Ali and Travis went to the garage to put petrol in the car. The friend arrived for the moby and stopped for a chat. Hubby arrived back and showed him how to operate the moby and they chatted for another half hour. After he left we had tea and then I finished supper. Hubby and Ali went on a neighbourhood watch patrol while Diane and I had a Milo and watched CSI. While I have been doing the blog Diane has been watching a movie – I can hear it is very funny as she keeps laughing. We will post the blog and then I’m off to bath and go to bed.The bakkie is at the workshop getting a gearlock installed so as soon as it is back we will put a pic up.
Cheers
