Woke up early and lay awhile waiting for the alarm to go off. Got up to let the dogs out. As I put the kettle on Hubby’s phone rang. He took his call and as he was now awake came to join me for our early morning chill outside. It was a pleasant morning and we sat for nearly an hour. I had my second coffee before seeing to the dogs. Hubby made himself breakfast while I was feeding the dogs.
I woke Diane with a cup of coffee and asked her to take a pic of my BMW before Hubby left with it. She took the pics and went back to bed to drink her coffee. Hubby left in the BMW and I did my blog quickly. Diane came to help post it and couldn’t believe it was only 7.30am. We had a Milo and then I got on with Office work – my petty cash. We checked emails and I sent off a couple of emails.
At half ten we checked the site for the visas but nothing yet, hope they come soon. I had an sms from Margie up the road inviting us for a swim. I phoned and told her we were off to the hairdresser and would stop there on our way back. Diane and I quickly went to see if we could get appointments at the same place as Ali had been. The Salon has only recently opened so still not too busy yet and we were able to get haircuts immediately. We were both very happy with the results. As we left the Salon we noticed the sky was rather black.
By the time we got to our off ramp it was pouring with rain. Obviously we couldn’t stop for a swim so we headed home. When we reached the gate it was a cloud burst so we sat in the car waiting for the rain to ease off. We didn’t have umbrellas in the car and most certainly couldn’t get our hair wet. Suddenly there was a flash of lightning followed by thunder. Oh No! We had left the computer on. Diane grabbed her towel, put it over her head and jumped out to open the gate. I quickly drove in and leaving the car in the driveway rushed inside. Luckily my hair wasn’t too wet and Diane’s towel had protected hers. We quickly switched the computer off.
I sent Margie a message to say we would pop up when the rain stopped. I did some more office work – my wages book is written up till the end November and I can do all my returns for Oct and Nov before we leave. Eventually at two we gave up waiting for the rain to stop (though it was not so heavy now) and decided to have a nap. It was still raining at half three and I sorted out a couple of queries I had. By four it was bright sunshine and we quickly went in to Meyerton to get some ointment for Hubby’s foot.
When we got back Diane and I had a glass of wine, inside as the chairs outside were sopping wet. Hubby had phoned to say he was on his way home as we were leaving for Meyerton and he was still not home. I tried phoning him a couple of times but had no reply. At six the dogs all started barking, I looked outside and saw lights shining at the gate. Next thing someone was hooting and I thought `what a cheek! Someone is here and too lazy to open the gate’ I went out and realized it was Hubby. He had come home in the `Swap’ and wanted us to go for a test drive. Diane and I rushed out and got in. I drove it to the garage and was thrilled with it.
Hubby’s friend had phoned him to ask him to swap the BMW for a bakkie he had. I was not happy about it until I saw the bakkie. Hubby had taken the BMW in the morning to make the swap. I will miss my BMW especially as I enjoyed being a BMW (Babe Met Wiele) but I Really like the bakkie. The BMW is pictured above and tomorrow when it is light Diane can take a pic of the bakkie and we will put it up tomorrow. When we got back I made supper and then we watched Ghost Whisperer (I would hate to be able to see ghosts) and CSI. I have cleaned the kitchen, Diane is making the Milo and we can now post the blog.
Cheers
