Up as usual 6.00am. Still lousy weather - very windy. Sat with my morning coffee in front of the TV. Nothing exciting on. Phoned the hospital for an update. Hubby will be out of ICU and in a general ward. Great news.
Put the computer on and finished the last of my statements. Off to Alberton for the remaining faxing via the hospital to give hubby his tablets for the day and to spray his toe with saline solution. Remembered the phone book this time.
Hubby still in a fair amount of pain with his stomach today but at least no more hooked to the monitor. Quickly did some shopping and went off to the workshop to fax. Back home for lunch – Pizza. Alison did the afternoon visiting hour. She sprayed the toe again and dressed it. Not a job I enjoy. Thank goodness for Alison.
As usual I had Travis and spent the afternoon entertaining him – actually running around after him rescuing all he tried to grab. It’s said that when you are older you have more patience with a baby. Not true, you really just don’t have the energy to do much. He is adorable though and has the cheekiest smile. Those blue eyes and red hair are irresistible - Takes after Grandpa.
Alison came home and took over so Diane and I could get ready for the evening hour. Hubby still not feeling good and annoyed because the doctor looking after him is a heart specialist and really not worried about his sore, bloated stomach. Poor hubby. Intends giving the doctor ‘whatfor’ when he is feeling better. Poor doctor. He fully intends coming home tomorrow. I’m sure the doctor won’t argue especially after the ‘whatfor’ he is supposed to be getting. Only another three visitors tonight and we could all visit together as it was a general ward. Missed the after party.
It was straight home tonight. When we got home I put the key in the door but it wouldn’t turn in the lock. I tried several times before looking at the key. The end of the key was slightly bent. Wonderful!! Alison was out for the evening so couldn’t go through her door. Only thing we could do was go in the front door. Just one problem with that. The alarm is set to work with entrance through the back door. We unlocked the door and as I opened it the alarm went off. I had a mad dash round to the control panel to switch off quickly. It didn’t take Golden Watch long to arrive to check that all was ok. At least we know they respond.
Events of the past few days seems to have caught up with me and I can hardly keep my eyes open. I am going to bed right now. Diane has already made the Milo.
Cheers until tomorrow
