Stumbled out of bed when my alarm shrilled at 6a.m. Felt like a zombie. Didn’t have a good night. Stupidly, had read till 1a.m. before switching the lamp off. Hubby wasn’t feeling well during the early hours and we both had interrupted sleep.
Let the dogs out after their treat of dog biscuits (the spoilt dogs won’t venture out until they have them – no matter how tightly their legs are crossed) .Had my morning coffee sitting under the trees outside the back door. Helped me start relaxing. I love sitting out in the early morning with all the birdsong starting up. My second cup left me ready to face the day. This early morning time is my me time and thank goodness for it as today was ONE OF THOSE DAYS.
When I took hubby his breakfast he was still not feeling well and was not interested in food. He also said he felt too ill and was going to stay home. Now this was very worrying as anyone who knows him knows that NOTHING is as important as his food and NO MATTER WHAT he insists on going to work.
I left him to sleep awhile and phoned our usual doctor for an appointment. He was on leave for a week. I tried our backup doctor and Can You Believe It he was also on leave. The friend who came to the wedding with us phoned on hubby’s cell and I told him the situation. He kindly phoned his doctor Who Was Also on Leave – Unbelievable. Anyway he described the symptoms to the partner who said to go to the hospital.
I woke hubby and told him to get dressed so I could take him. TYPICAL, STUBBORN MAN – oh no he was much better now and didn’t need to go. Friend phoned back and I told him the reaction so he immediately jumped into his car and drove over. It was rather funny as he stormed into the house, told hubby to stop being a stubborn fool and to get dressed as he was taking him to hospital. Hubby meekly dressed but the decision was taken to go to the friend’s doctor’s partner instead. Off they went leaving Diane and I at home where I was looking after my one year old grandson.
Got a phone call a while later to say hubby had had a mild heart attack and was off to hospital. Horror, panic, stress. It was very frustrating as there was little I could do until Alison – Travis’s mom came home to take over looking after him. She eventually pitched just after five and we set off for the hospital.
It was not a pleasant sight seeing him with all the tubes attached to monitor him but luckily he was feeling a little better ( and I’m sure Relieved we had taken him). In fact after a while he rallied enough to test the bed attachment to raise and lower his head , his feet and even the whole bed – MEN!!!!!
At the end of visiting time hubby informs me he needs his medication . He is diabetic, has high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Wonderful! So we had to rush home, grab his medication and get back to the hospital. We delivered the medication and returned home. A trip that took one and a half hours all in all.
Well we are now home and thankful OUR BAD DAY has come to an end. I really need a Milo now (Hint, hint Diane) and an early night. This is early considering last nights bedtime.
Cheers until tomorrow. Hope it is a better day
